Purpose:
The production planner and scheduler will balance supply and demand at the mix level, specializing in implementing best practices.
Responsible for creating, executing, and monitoring a scheduling management system.
Must have prior experience in manufacturing.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs.
Schedule demand based on the product mix and provide accurate lead times to sales department.
Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, and the production plan.
Manage load leveling and bottlenecks for more accurate scheduling.
Analyze and report production hours through work center.
Establish, measure, monitor, and adjust capacity levels to execute all manufacturing schedules.
Determine available capacity before planned orders are released.
Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning and forecasting.
Collaborates with purchasing to periodically compare current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgement to anticipate demand for and communicate additional supplies needed.
Integrates sales orders with master schedule; and WIP database - coordinates availability of equipment and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
Alerts appropriate staff of master schedule changes or delays.
Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, purchasing, production, and shipping.
Assists with capacity requirements during the annual operating plan.
Plans/recommends changes in capacity to hit target levels.
Sets up and maintains work center and work groups in inventory/MRB system.
Reports on-time delivery.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
3
years' experience in a manufacturing and/or contract manufacturing environment (electronics).
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Experience processing ample data and developing planning tools.
Preferences a fast-paced, highly competitive industry.
