Position Description:
The Procurement/Sourcing Specialist II is responsible for researching, identifying, and evaluating sources for products needed for client quotations, contracts and procurement.
In addition, locate obsolete and end of life products for defense and aerospace platforms.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with industry specific vendors.
Be able to sell the Dynatech value add to possible sources effectively and gain favorable economic terms including creating distribution agreements.
Research and understand potential demand using Dynatech systems and articulate that demand to suppliers.
Research and understand potential cost standards and demonstrate that you are meeting cost standards Develop unique and creative supply chain solutions, including alternatives, and proprietary contract manufacturing.
Requires use of analytical thought process, providing solutions to products that are no longer made or able to locate.
Spot economic supply chain opportunities based on client demand.
Be able to articulate the opportunity to management and execute agreements.
Develop a primary and secondary source, and tertiary if necessary to keep supply chain fluid.
Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
Prepare purchase orders, submit RFQ's and review requisitions for goods and services.
Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
Analyze price proposals and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.
Demonstrate knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements.
Demonstrate awareness of ITAR and other export requirements.
Maintain and review records of items purchased.
Ability to independently prioritize work in conjunction with sales to meet critical deadlines.
Identifies Manufacturers, key supply chain opportunities based on client needs and business outlook.
Will participate in improvement activities at department/company level.
Evaluate and recommend business partnering opportunities.
Ability to independently recognize and distinguish supply chain opportunities and apply appropriate amount of effort Negotiate long term agreements with suppliers as well as manage their performance.
Become the subject-matter-expert and demonstrate proficiency in a vertical market across multiple platforms and support the Procurement team.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
Strong Background in Sourcing Hard to find Legacy military and commercial Land Vehicle or Aviation parts.
Familiarity with NSN's BA or BS from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Five (5) years-experience with sourcing product, , in at least one of the following vertical markets:
aviation, military land vehicles, naval vessels, hardware, chemicals, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience using ILS, Parts Base, Haystack and other inventory locating data bases.
Significant exposure to FAR/DFAR, and export compliance.
Aerospace or defense experience preferred.
Engineering and / or technical background a plus Microsoft Office proficiency is required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to understand business operations and offer opportunities for improvement and demonstrate to others the value of such guidance.
