Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Technical Trainer who possesses functional knowledge in supporting federal and commercial technical support contracts.
Create engaging course materials and content that ensure participants have a solid understanding of the systems, the skills needed to operate or maintain their systems in their day-to-day responsibilities and enhances retention.
The Trainer will work with subject matter experts, engineering teams, and customer representatives to identify target audience's training needs to perform specialized tasks in multiple functional areas and coordinate completion within product release dates.
Develop/deliver training presentations and lesson plans from engineering documentation and field service requirements.
Must be able to deliver course materials in a formal classroom setting.
Must be able to develop hands-on and classroom training material.
Must be able to develop the material in accordance with the Instructional System Development (ISD) process.
Essential Functions:
Provide SATCOM technical training services.
Work with engineering team to evaluate technical data and convert to training material.
Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical orders.
Actively participate in building a collaborative and productive team environment.
State instructional end goals and create content that matches stated objectives.
Apply tested instructional design theories, practices and methods.
Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, etc.
) using Microsoft Office, Visio and Adobe Illustrator (as needed).
Decide on the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments.
Maintain project documentation and course material.
Communicate with customer to understand training requirements.
Compile and analyze student test data and course results to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, and to adjust training task selection, objectives, instructional techniques, and evaluations to best meet customer training needs.
Recommend modifications to training programs where appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Active TS/SCI clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Supervisory ability to delegate tasks and monitor status of activities.
Usage of Microsoft Project and adherence to project timelines.
Cost account management experience in forecasting training expenses in support of contractual requirements.
Experience in supporting new business proposal development.
Open willingness to support corporate employee diversity values.
Focus on seeking opportunities to expand training offerings to new and existing customers.
Certified Master Training Instructor/Military training background highly desirable.
