The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of music theory, history, and practice, along with experience in a variety of instructional strategies suitable for elementary-aged students.
Responsibilities:
1.
Implement and manage the overall music education program for grades K-5 with focus on K-2.
2.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans that meet Florida state standards and school curriculum guidelines.
3.
Utilize various musical instruments and teaching techniques to ensure a well-rounded understanding of musical concepts.
4.
Organize and conduct performances and recitals showcasing student learning.
5.
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
6.
Collaborate with other educators to integrate music education into other subject areas.
7.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and creative classroom environment that encourages student participation.
8.
Engage with parents, guardians, and administration on students' musical progress.
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a closely related field.
2.
Certification in Music Education from the State of Florida Department of Education.
3.
Experience in a music education setting (preferably at the elementary level).
4.
Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of music genres, styles, and cultures.
5.
Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
6.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7.
Proficiency in playing and teaching a variety of musical instruments.
